Northwest Trenchless Project of the Year - Application Form
NASTT-NW is accepting applications for the 2010 Northwest Trenchless Project of the Year. Projects submitted for consideration as project of the year must be located within Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, utilize at least one form of trenchless technology, and be in some form of activity between November 2009 and November 2010 (i.e. commenced, in progress, or completed). The application deadline is August 31, 2010. Applicants are not required to be members of NASTT.
If you have an interesting project that meets these criteria and would like to submit an application for the project of the year award, please complete the following form.
Following the application deadline, an independent review panel, made up of industry professionals, will review the submissions and make an award selection by mid-September.
The successful applicant will be notified of the award in mid-September and will be required to provide a 20 to 25 minute slideshow presentation describing the project at the Northwest Trenchless Conference in November. The award will be officially presented at the conference.
Note: Some firewalls can impede proper operation of the web form system used on this website. Also, applications of greater size than limited by our web form system (i.e. due to oversized attachments) may not be processed correctly. To avoid lost effort, please complete the application information in an offline word processing software and copy/paste it into the form. If you still have difficulties, please email Dan Willems for assistance by clicking here.

Edmonton Technical Lunch - January 21, 2010 (Thursday)
NASTT Colleagues and Friends,
Please join us for the third technical lunch of the 2009-10 season on Thursday January 21.
This month’s speaker will be Brian Bonner, who is the Vice President and General Manager of SpiderPlow Services Inc. SpiderPlow Services Inc. is a construction company which provides highly specialized pipe, cable and fibre optic installation services throughout Canada and the United States. Brian has been with the company for 4 years, since it was founded in 2005, and is responsible for business development.
The SpiderPlow is a cost effective, expedient and environmentally friendly advanced system for installing flexible pipelines, fibre optic cable or power cable. The technology “plows” the pipe or cable into the ground by cutting a narrow channel and laying the pipe or cable underground in one continuous process (i.e. less trench). The system consists of two separate machines which work together. These machines are the ‘SpiderPlow’ which rips open the channel and lays the product into channel, and the ‘Winch Crawler’ which is designed solely to winch the ‘SpiderPlow’ forward. This presentation will provide an overview of SpiderPlow Services Inc., the company, as well as the ‘SpiderPlow’ system as a construction methodology.
